Depart

  • Arrived Bandaranaike International Airport and you will be met and welcomed by our local Representative who will accompany you to your designated vehicle. Thereafter, leave for Colombo for your overnight stay. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel.
  • Overnight stay: Colombo

D2

  • Depart for Kandy, “The Hill Capital”. Enroute, visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, an orphanage, nursery and breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. Pinnawala has the largest herd of captive elephants in the world. Afterwards, visit Spice Garden to see the different spices and how some of these spices are grown.
  • Then, continue with a city tour of Kandy. Kandy is the venue for the annual Perehera, a pageant with over 150 elephants and dancing troops parading the city. Visit the Temple of Tooth Relic, the Upper Lake and Kandy Market area. This evening witnesses a Cultural Dance Show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dances including fire dancing.

  • Hotel Breakfast or Boxed Breakfast.
  • Proceed to Nuwara Eliya, known as “Little England of Sri Lanka”, by train, one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world! Lunch at a local restaurant. En route see the mountains covered with tea bushes and cascading waterfalls.
  • Overnight stay: Nuwara Eliya

  • Proceed to visit Tea Factory & Tea Plantation.
  • Thereafter, leave for Yala. En route, photo stop at the Rawana Ella Waterfall. Lunch at a local restaurant. This afternoon, join a safari trip in an open jeep at Yala National Park that which gives the best opportunity to witness Sri Lanka’s broad variety of wildlife: colourful painted stork in troops are seen perched at the shores of lagoon where the crocodiles too have chosen to doze off; lovely fan tailed peacocks in their resplendent blues and greens parade about midst the woods where monkeys hang, leap and chatter; in the bush jungle are the Elephants; crossing the tracks and wandering off into the thorny scrub jungle is the star attraction of the park: the leopard.

  • After breakfast, proceed to visit the Kataragama Hindu Temple, Sri Lanka’s largest temple and where pilgrims from all over Sri Lanka would come here to worship. Leave for southwest coast. En route, stop by Hambantota/Tangalle and Matara.
  • In Koggala, see stilt fishing, a traditional style of fishing practise by local fishermen where men sit perched far from shore atop crude crucifixes of sticks and twine, dangling fishing rods into schools of fish.
  • In Galle, visit the famous Colonial Dutch Fort. In Hikkaduwa, tour in a Glass Bottom Boat to see the impressive underwater corals.
  • Overnight stay: Beach Resort

  • Free time at the resort till check-out.
  • Lunch at a local restaurant before we depart to Colombo for do a city tour of Colombo. There is a 100-year-old clock tower and several British built colonial buildings. Other places of interest in Colombo are the Pettah Bazaar where one can shop for bargain; the Hindu and Buddhist Temple; the renown residential areas where you can find the stately homes of the affluents; the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall and probably do some shopping in Colombo.
  • Overnight stay: Colombo
