Your vacation begins with a pleasant flight to Taipei – The Capital of Taiwan. Upon arrival, proceed to the city’s largest night market – Shihlin Night Market where you can enjoy a fun time shopping and tasting delicious Taiwanese snacks. (Meals on Board)
This morning, make a stop at Yeliu Geopark to view the rock formations, such as Queen’s Head Rock and Fairy Shoe, which were caused by erosion and were named based on their unique shapes. Thereafter, we will visit Jiufen, the filming site of movie ‘Sad City’. Nestled against the mountains and hemmed in by the sea, Jiufen is an old town rich in decorative old teahouses, Japanese-style homes and traditional narrow lanes. Proceed to IlanLeisure Farm and you could discover the farm by walking in the orchard and enjoy fruit picking (at your own expense). After dinner, experience the fun of staying in the traditional Taiwanese leisure farm and relive your childhood by joining in activities like releasing heavenly lanterns (subject to weather condition), dumpling making and spinning tops. (Breakfast/Dinner: Farmer Specialty Meal)
After breakfast, return to Taipei going through Hsuehshan Tunnel which is considered a marvel of civil engineering and human perseverance. You will witness the splendid collection of Chinese imperial art treasures at National Palace Museum. Make a stop at Pi-siou Arts Centre. Thereafter, proceed to the Eastern Villa (or similar). The grounds include the only low-elevation primitive tropical rain forest in Taiwan, with radial tabular roots that is especially rare. In addition to enjoying the natural scenery, you will take a soothing and skin-pampering soak the in carbonic hot spring (Please bring along your swimming wear and cap). Overnight stay at Eastern Villa or Great Roots Forestry Spa Resort (or similar). (Breakfast/Lunch: Hai Pa Wang Steamboat Buffet/Dinner at Resort)
This morning, visit Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, of which the architecture is inspired by Tientam in Beijing. Make a stop at Lingzhi Specialty Store. Next, take a picture of the guard changing ceremony which is held every hour at Martyr’s Shrine. Stop at Oolong Tea Centre and learn more about tea processing. Indulge in a great shopping spree at Taipei 101, the landmark of Taipei. Thereafter, visit Breeze Taipei Station where lots of gourmet pleasures await you. End the day at Ximenting, the epicentre of Taiwan’s youth culture that comprises of entertainment, latest shopping trends and local delights. (Breakfast/Lunch: Set meal at the King Queen Garden)
You are free to spend the whole day at your leisure to explore the vibrant city. You may visit Danshui Old Street or meet the pandas at Taipei Zoo. (Breakfast)
