DAY 1

SINGAPORE - ROME

Our vacation starts with a pleasant flight to the capital of Italy – Rome. [Note: Emirates flight will arrive on the same evening and 1 extra night accommodation in Rome with breakfast will be included.] (Meals On Board)


DAY 2

ROME

On arrival, embark on a sightseeing tour of Rome city, where you will get to view the Colosseum, one of the most magnificent monuments of ancient Rome. Built in 72 AD, it once seat 50,000 spectators and was the chief circus of the Roman empire where gladiatorial battles and other cruel glories were held. Our next stop will be the Trevi Fountain, make a wish by throwing a coin into the fountain. Proceed to St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican City, the administrative and spiritual capital of Roman Catholicism. See the famous ‘Pieta’ by Michelangelo and works of art by many other Italian artists. (Meals On Board/Lunch/Italian Dinner)


DAY 3

ROME - FLORENCE - TUSCANY REGION

This morning, a leisurely drive towards the Tuscany region, famous for Chianti wines and riches in art. Arrive in Florence and make a photo stop at Ponte Vecchio, a historic bridge for a superb view of River Arno. Continue with our walking tour to Piazza della Signoria, the lordship square, where you can see sculptures done by various famous Italian artists in the square and alongside the walls of Uffizi Gallery. At the old town, visit the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral. Another sightseeing stop not to be missed is the Door of Paradise at the Baptistery of St Giovanni, a matchless work of bronze that took Ghiberti 27 years to complete. Overnight in the Tuscany Region. (Breakfast/Florentine Steak Dinner)


DAY 4

TUSCANY REGION - PISA - VENICE (MESTRE)

We head to Pisa and visit the ‘Square of Miracles’ to appreciate the famous trio: Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Duomo and the Baptistery. After which, drive across the Apennine mountain range to one of the most romantic cities in Italy – Venice, a fabulous city of canals, gondolas and beautiful places erected on an archipelago of islands. Overnight in the Mestre region of Venice. (Breakfast/Squid Ink Spaghetti Dinner)


DAY 5

VENICE - INNSBRUCK

This morning, board a water taxi to Venice Island where we visit St Mark’s Square, which is bordered by the Doge’s Palace, St Mark’s Basilica and the Campanile. A photo stop will be made at the celebrated Bridge of Sighs, followed by a visit to a fine glass-blowing factory where we will be able to see richly coloured Venetian glass made to world class standard. You may wish to hop onto a gondola to tour the canals (at your own expense). Later, drive through the Inn river valley to the Alpine resort of Innsbruck, which grew around the bridge over the Inn. It was once the seat of the great Habsburg Empire and site of the Winter Olympics in 1964 and 1976. An orientation tour brings us to the Old Town Hall and the Golden Roof, where Emperor Maximillian I and his queen used to sit in the royal box and watch the jousting tournaments and plays in the square below. DAY 6

INNSBRUCK - VADUZ - LUCERNE

This morning, head for the tiny Principality of Liechtenstein and its capital – Vaduz. Only 150 square kilometres in area, this independent monarchy is famous for its well-designed postage stamps. Drive on to Switzerland, passing beautiful lakes and the towering Swiss Alps. Arrive in Lucerne, one of Europe’s most picturesque resorts 437-metre above sea level.

DAY 7

LUCERNE

Begin our sightseeing of Lucerne – visit the Lion Monument that is carved from a limestone cave to commemorate the bravery of the Swiss Guards during the French Revolution, and the 14th Century covered wooden Chapel Bridge. Then you are at leisure to shop for mouth-watering chocolate, Swiss knives, Rolex watches or visit Bucherer, Europe’s number one shop for watches and jewellery, and collect a free souvenir. Alternatively, you may want to join an optional tour to Mt Titlis by revolving cable car.

DAY 8

LUCERNE - BLACK FOREST - RHINELAND

After breakfast, proceed to Schaffhausen for a visit to Europe’s largest waterfall, Rhine Falls. Listen to the roar of the mighty Rhine Falls as the glacial waters of the Rhine hurl over the rocks. Continue our journey through the Black Forest region of Germany, with a visit to the Cuckoo Clock Workshop where we will watch a demonstration on the assembly of the cuckoo clock. Enjoy the famous Pork Knuckle with Black Forest Gateau in its place of origin. (Breakfast/Pork Knuckle Lunch/Dinner)


DAY 9

PHINELAND - COLOGNE - AMSTERDAM

Travel to Cologne, one of the busiest and oldest cities in Germany, and see the splendid gothic Cologne Cathedral. Thereafter, continue northbound to Holland, passing enroute characteristic dykes, canals and windmills of the picturesque Dutch countryside. Upon arrival in Amsterdam, board a glass-domed boat cruise through the canals as you glide gently past some of the city’s 800 bridges, quaint historic buildings and barges moored along the sides. After dinner, take a stroll through Amsterdam’s well-known red light district situated near Dam Square.

DAY 10

AMSTERDAM

This morning, our tour of Amsterdam starts with a drive to Dam Square and the Royal Palace, then a visit to the diamond-cutting factory before proceeding to learn about cheese and clogs making. Snap a great shot with the unique traditional windmills as the backdrop!

DAY 11

AMSTERDAM - BRUSSELS - PARIS

After breakfast, continue to Brussels, the lively and bustling capital of Belgium. Our sightseeing tour of Brussels begins with the site of the 1958 World Fair and view the Atomium, Chinese Pavilion and Japanese Pagoda. Take a picture with the cheeky Manneken Pis for remembrance before proceeding to the Grand Place, one of the most beautiful and impressive squares in Europe. Then drive on to Paris. This evening, you may consider to take an optional River Seine cruise, or watch the renowned “Moulin Rouge”, a typical French Can-Can Revue with all its fun, colour and excitement (at your own expense).

DAY 12

PARIS

Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Paris, starting with the glorious Arc de Triomphe erected by Napoleon in 1806. Since 1919, it has become a National Monument to the Unknown Soldiers of France. Situated on a small hill with 12 avenues radiating like rays of lights from a star, the area was aptly named Place L’Etoile. Drive down the Champs-Élysées, which was laid in the 17th Century before arriving at Place de la Concorde, one of the largest squares in the world. Later, ascend to the 2nd level of Eiffel Tower, which has become an enduring symbol of the city of Paris. Continue past the Notre Dame Cathedral and Louvre Museum’s famous glass pyramids. This afternoon, enjoy some outlet shopping at La Vallée Village.

DAY 13

PARIS

The day is free for you to explore this vibrant city at your leisure. You may consider to visit the world renowned UNESO World Heritage Site – Palace of Versailles or fun-filled Disneyland Paris (at your own expense).

DAY 14

PARIS - LONDON (BY TRAIN)

Bid ‘Au Revoir’ to Paris as we proceed for the high speed train ride onboard the Eurostar to London (Note: Travel by flight in the event that Eurostar not operating). Our London tour highlights include the Trafalgar Square, No.10 Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament, the old faithful Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, which is also one of the filming sites of “Da Vinci Code”. Continue to Buckingham Palace, which serves as both the office and residence of The Queen, and the administrative headquarters of the Royal Household. Today, it is one of the few working royal palaces. The rest of the day will be free at your leisure to explore this bustling city – you may visit Madame Tussauds Wax Museum (at your own expense) or embark on a shopping spree along Oxford Street, the world’s longest shopping street. [Note: If the number of passengers continuing on 16 Days Tour (ESRO) falls below the minimum group size, the tour manager will not accompany the passengers to London. Instead, the passengers will join a local sightseeing tour of London.] (Breakfast/Dim Sum Lunch)


DAY 15

LONDON - SINGAPORE

Bid farewell to England with our departure transfer to the airport for our flight back to Singapore. We hope that you have had an enjoyable time with SA Tours! (Breakfast/Meals On Board)
