Our vacation starts with a pleasant flight to the fun-loving German capital of Bavaria - Munich. (Meals On Board)
On arrival, embark on our sightseeing tour of Munich with a drive along the Ludwigstrasse to the Victory Arch, ending in the heart of the city at Marienplatz to see the Hofbräuhaus and the soaring Town Hall with its unique, musical Glockenspiel clock. This afternoon, transfer to Ingolstadt Village for some outlet shopping and free at leisure thereafter. (Meals On Board/Dinner)
After breakfast, proceed to the beautiful baroque city of Salzburg. Begin our guided walking tour - visit the Mirabell Gardens where Maria and the Trapp children ran down the hedge arcade in “The Sound of Music” movie, then continue to the UNESCO World Heritage Old Town with an ensemble of medieval and baroque buildings, the Domplatz to see the city’s majestic Cathedral as well as the great composer Mozart’s birthplace. Later you may consider to visit the Berchtesgaden Salt Mine (at your own expense). (Breakfast/Lunch)
Today, if time permits, you may join an optional tour to Lake Königssee with its clear emerald waters and enjoy an electric boat cruise to St Batholomä Church. A scenic drive past the Wilder Kaiser Mountains brings us to the capital of Tyrol - Innsbruck, the Alpine resort which grew around the bridge over the River Inn. It was once the seat of the great Habsburg Empire and site of the Winter Olympics in 1964 and 1976. An orientation tour brings us to the Old Town Hall and the Golden Roof,where Emperor Maximillian I and his queen used to sit in the royal box to watch the jousting tournaments and plays in the square below. This evening, head back into the Bavarian Alps of Germany to Füssen for overnight. (Breakfast/Dinner)
This morning, proceed for a guided visit of Neuschwanstein Castle, mad King Ludwig’s fairytale castle bristling with turrets and pinnacles. Admire the extravagantly furnished apartments here before we continue our drive to the Black Forest region. Savour the famous Pork Knuckle and the Black Forest Gateau in its place of origin. (Breakfast/Pork Knuckle Dinner)
After breakfast, visit the Cuckoo Clock Workshop and watch a demonstration on the assembly of the cuckoo clock. As we cross the border into Switzerland, stop at Schaffhausen to see the mighty Rhine Falls. Listen to the roar of the mighty Rhine Falls as the glacial waters of the Rhine hurl over the rocks. Continue to Interlaken, a Bernese Oberland resort beautifully situated between two sparkling lakes and beneath the towering Jungfrau. Marvel at the scenic splendours and glories of nature surrounding the town. (Breakfast/Swiss Fondue Dinner)
Today, you are free at leisure to enjoy this spectacular holiday resort situated in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Simply relax and enjoy a scenic feast of snow-capped peaks, or you may like to take an optional tour to UNESCO World Heritage Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe by a spectacular train ride! (Breakfast)
This morning, travel to the picturesque town of Lucerne by the lovely Lake Lucerne. See the poignant Lion Monument carved from a limestone cliff to commemorate the bravery of the Swiss Guards during the French Revolution, then visit the 14th Century covered wooden Chapel Bridge. After which, free at leisure to take an optional excursion to Mt Titlis by revolving cable car, or shop for Swiss products such as Swiss knives, mouth-watering chocolate and Rolex watches. You may like to visit Bucherer, Europe’s number one shop for watches and jewellery, and collect a free souvenir. (Breakfast/Dinner)
