Your vacation begins with a pleasant flight to Siem Reap - a small colonial town, charming and pleasant enough to roam around, with some fine examples of French colonial architecture. Upon arrival at Angkor International airport, you will be greeted by our tour guide and proceed to visit Angkor Silk Farm. Visitors will discover and understand the whole silk production process, from Mulberry tree growing to silk weaving. Go on a boat trip in Tonle Sap Lake, which is one of the unique geographical wonders of the world. During the rainy season, the Tonle Sap Lake reverses direction, flooding the lake, increasing its size almost tenfold, making it the largest freshwater body in Southeast Asia. Enjoy the spectacular views as you cruise along the Tonle Sap Lake, which enables you to see fascinating fishing village, one of Asia’s largest fishing villages. Afternoon, visit a Jewelry shop to discover the Cambodian famous gemstones and visit Les Artisan D’Angkor (Art School) to discover the traditional Khmer techniques used for stone and wood carving, lacquering and gilding. Enjoy dinner with Khmer traditional dance show. (Meal on board/Lunch/Dinner)
After breakfast proceed to a full day visit of magnificent Angkor City. Visit the ancient city of Angkor Thom, which was built by Angkor’s greatest king, Jayavarman VII (1181 – 1219). Consisting of 54 towers and each with 4 faces, Angkor Thom has become the most recognizable image connected to classic Khmer art and architecture. Proceed to Phimeanakas Temple, Elephants Terrace, Leper King Terrace and Ta Prohm Temple. In the afternoon, visit World Heritage Angkor Wat, which is one of the largest religious monuments ever built and a true wonder of the world. Believed to have been constructed as a temple and mausoleum for King Suryavarman II at the peak of the Khmer empire in the first half of the 12th century, Angkor Wat is probably the best-preserved Angkorean temple. At dawn, watch sunset from Bakheng hill. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After breakfast visit West Barray, a huge water reservoir constructed by Udayadityavarman VII in the 11th century. It is a supreme feast of civil engineering and now it has become a local recreational area, drawing bathers and picnickers to its small beaches. Visit the Cambodian Cultural Village, a unique, sprawling cultural attraction, intended to introduce the Cambodian Culture and history. It assembles all the miniatures of famous historical buildings and structures, local customs and practices of all races. There are 11 unique villages, which represent different culture heritages and characteristics of 19 multi races. Enjoy the excellent wood houses, carving, soft skill in stone and traditional performances in different style such as: Apsara Dancing, performance of ethnic minorities from Northeast of Cambodia, traditional wedding ceremony, Circus, Popular games, Peacock dancing, Acrobat, elephants shows, boxing and more... Then, visit Old Market and Pub Street. Enjoy one hour traditional Cambodian massage. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After breakfast transfer to Phnom Penh by coach (around 5.5 hours).Phnom Penh is the capital city of Cambodia, also is the commercial and political hub of Cambodia. Attractions include Royal Palace (proper attire), Silver Pagoda and Independence Monument. Royal Palace, gleaming in gold, is one of Phnom Penh’s most splendid architectural achievements. The Silver Pagoda is a wooden temple originally built by King Norodom and weighs nearly 6 tons. Independent Monument, an Angkorian style tower, attracts many tourists for its peculiar looking but unique style which distinguishes it from all the buildings in the city. Free at leisure in Naga Casino. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
After breakfast proceed to visit Toul Sleng Museum and Choeung Ek (Killing Field). Between 1975 and 1978, about 17,000 men, women, children and infants (including nine westerners), were detained and tortured at S-21 prison (now Tuol Sleng Museum) and were exterminated to death to avoid wasting precious bullets. Over 8000 skulls, arranged by sex, are visible behind the clear glass panels of the Memoral Stupa, which was erected in 1988 to commemorate the spirits of the innocent. Thereafter proceed to visit Central Market, shaped in the form of a cross with a nice central dome, is undoubtedly the best of Phnom Penh’s markets for browsing. It is the cleanest and has widest range of products for sale. Central Market is filled with shops selling jewellery, fabrics and all kinds of souvenirs to bring back home.
